not-so-fresh press

gave up on seeing it in print two weeks after i submitted it, but PDI's youngblood finally printed my article last Saturday. To my legions of fans (yes, that's you, mom), you could (re)-read the piece here.

John says it's badly edited, and he has a point. Osteen's name comes out like a surprise left hook -- all you could mutter is, 'where did tha come from?'

hey, moks! congrats! i read the youngblood article.

i know what you mean by editing. they're rather known for that. one of my officemates's been published there twice and both times he said they mangled his pieces.

still, it's great to see something more substantial in youngblood than the usual stories they publish. =)

great views (even though you think some things got lost in the editing)! :) the important thing is that your message was put out there and that it had enough meat in it to sustain the article, even after the butcher-upper.

my "transience" interview on INQ7 had the same weakness. it's laughable, but there were a few things printed on there that made me sound like a, erm, for lack of a better term, pussy.

actually nung binabasa ko siya, hinanap ko kung san nanggaling si osteen. aba'y wala. na-weirdo-han nga ko.

anyway, congrats pa rin. :)

I thought it was a great article. I've seen a lot of that "prosperity gospel" stuff growing up in the States. It's really bad theology and your article helps make that clear.

Sorry if they mangled it in the editing, but it still made a great point.

hi mokie. your point made it through the mangling, so, success pa rin!

alam mo, pag masakit ang likod ko, lagi kitang naaalala. i miss your excellent back rub. prosperity theo may not make you rich, but a sideline in the spas might. ha ha.
